HSF Species Combo is designed to be fed a multi-species feed, suitable for small ruminant animals including calves, sheep (including lambs), goats, alpacas and deer.
The HSF Species Combo can be fed to multiple animals with small ruminant systems because they share similar rumen needs and protein levels required enabling them to eat the same mix.
All ruminant animals, which are those with 4 stomachs/chambers, need to give the rumen (the largest of the stomachs and the biggest digestor) time to adjust to changes in the diet, so as not to make the animal sick or cause damage to the rumen.
Buffering is important to neutralise or decrease the acid within a rumen and keep PH at stable levels to increase the future needs of nutrient uptake and prevent stomach upsets.
